Blinds & Shades in Bloomingdale, IL
Bloomingdale runs from the preserved Old Town district to the subdivisions around Stratford Square, and a Roman shade is one of the few treatments that looks right in both.
Local knowledge
Blinds, Shades & Shutters in Bloomingdale
Vignette® Modern Roman Shades do something clever: they give you the soft fabric folds of a traditional Roman shade, but the fabric and lift system are contained so the back of the shade stays clean. They come in 4" full folds or 6" flat folds, in sheer, light-filtering or room-darkening fabrics, and in rolling or stacking styles.
In Bloomingdale's Old Town, where the village protects its nineteenth-century character, the flat-fold version in a light-filtering fabric reads as period-appropriate without pretending to be antique. In the newer homes off Army Trail and Lake Street, the same shade in a room-darkening fabric handles a west-facing family room that gets punished every afternoon.

Bloomingdale questions
Asked and answered
What is the difference between a Roman shade and a roller shade?
A Roman shade gathers into fabric folds as it rises and keeps a soft, upholstered look when lowered. A roller shade winds onto a tube and reads flat and minimal. Romans suit traditional rooms; rollers suit contemporary ones.
Can I get a Roman shade that actually darkens a bedroom?
Yes. Vignette® is available in room-darkening fabrics, and Hunter Douglas states those fabrics also help block heat gain. For true blackout in a bedroom, ask us about the Duette® LightLock® system instead.
Old Town or new build, Bloomingdale has a blinds and shades sales and installation company that will measure both the same way.
